2016 Trend Update: Satin
Satin seems to be the fabric trend in 2016. It made a huge comeback this year and you can see this lightweight fabric on almost every catwalk from London to New York! No wonder, because it is modern, sexy, silky, shiny, and glossy, and will make any wearer feel like a total goddess. It always feels luxurious and expensive. And there are so many ways to wear it! No matter if you choose a chic satin lingerie dress or a statement bomber jacket. Trust me: You have never felt so comfortable until you have slipped into a piece of satin over a freshly-shaved leg.
Be careful! Satin is very delicate. So I wrote down some tips just for you on maintaining this beautiful material:
1.) NEVER put it in the washing machine! Why? Satin is a weaved fabric so it can easily snag and lose shape in the washing machine.
2.) Hand wash it with cold water. This is actually the only option to do at home and it will prevent the dye from transferring.
3.) Hand washing is not always a good option though because some satins are even too delicate for that! Sometimes dry-cleaning is the only way to go. For example, satin made with a silk-and-acetate combination has to be treated like that.
