Overknees – What’s this?

Overknees have an extended bootleg and the lengths reaches over the knee – like the name says. The size of the heel is secondary. All heights are represented from flat to high heels. There have never been so many variations. As closures there are zippers, lacings, elastic fabrics, and many more. The designers choose how the bootleg is designed. The only rule they have to consider is that the shoe has to cover the knee.

Material

The material is variegated. Many overknees are made out of suede, smooth or patent leather. Be careful with synthetic leather though. It can look cheap.

How to wear Overknees

Overknees are a great combination for wrap or knitted dresses or jeans paired with a poncho. Without tights they emphasize a springlike feeling. Consider not to wear these with floor-length dresses or skirts or anything that covers the shoe. Overknees want to be seen. In this case ankle boots or pumps are a better choice. Try to find the perfect shoe size when you buy them. Overknees which have a too loose fit do not look very elegant and too tight ones that narrow down your skin are even worse and hurt, not to forget about that…
